The Cloudsurfer was On’s very first shoe model when it was launched in 2012, and since then many different versions have hit the market. The newest model Cloudsurfer Next has many interesting updates that will appeal to many types of runners.
On Cloudsurfer Next Release Date
The On Cloudsurfer Next launches today, August 1, 2024, and is now available at retailers worldwide. It has a price of $150 USD and placed in the broad category of running shoes for everyday training, road running, short to medium distances, tempo and intervals. In the first stage, ON Cloudsurfer NEXT is available in two different colors.
Cloudsurfer Next introduces the innovative CloudTec Phase® midsole, which is designed to create a smoother roll-off from heel to toe. With the updated Helion superfoam compound, this midsole provides a more bouncy and energetic ride.
Lighter and more cushioned than its predecessors, the Cloudsurfer Next propels you forward, providing a faster and more responsive running experience. The smooth rocker in the forefoot increases your power on push-off and makes every step more efficient.
Inspired by the brand’s racing shoes, the Cloudsurfer Next features an engineered woven upper for a seamless fit. This lightweight and breathable material wraps around the feet, providing a comfortable run and secure lockdown.
The shoe also features updated rubber pads on the sole, providing good grip and durability in both wet and dry conditions.
Is the ON Cloudsurfer Next a Good Running Shoe?
The ON Cloudsurfer Next is easy to step into and has an intuitive fit adjustment to suit many different foot shapes. The redesigned padded tongue improves fit and lockdown, keeping your feet comfortable and secure throughout your run.
If you liked On’s previous models of Cloudsurfer, then you will definitely like Cloudsurfer Next. Previous models I have personally experienced as slightly hard in the cushioning, but it is clear that On has done a lot in recent years to get a softer cushioning and better responsiveness in the midsole.
This shoe model follows the development that we have seen in several other launches from ON over the past year, with models such as Cloudeclipse, Cloudmonster 2 and Cloudmonster Hyper. It also means that they have abandoned the cloud-shaped outsole that they became known for when they first came out on the market, but in my opinion this is only a positive development.
