The development of the METASPEED™ SKY PARIS and METASPEED™ EDGE PARIS is the culmination of extensive research and testing by the ASICS Institute of Sport Science.
This process included collaboration with over a hundred elite athletes globally, leading to a lighter, softer, and more responsive pair of shoes that cater specifically to different running styles.
Tailored for Performance
In an innovative approach first realized in 2021, ASICS unveiled two distinct designs within the METASPEED™ series, each aimed at enhancing the performance of runners with STRIDE and CADENCE styles. This customization allows runners to maintain optimal posture and foot strike, conserving energy throughout the race.
The newly launched models boast three major improvements. A significant reduction in weight by approximately 22g ensures a nearly weightless experience, enhancing runners’ speed and agility. This achievement is attributed to the new MOTION WRAP™ UPPER 2.0 and a novel FF BLAST™ TURBO PLUS midsole foam, which also contributes to the shoes’ increased breathability and bounce.
Strategic adjustments to the full-length carbon plate within the METASPEED™ SKY PARIS enhance the forefoot’s bounce, while the METASPEED™ EDGE PARIS sees an optimized carbon plate placement ideal for cadence runners, alongside a redesigned forefoot for better arch support.
